The break screen: a 20 second countdown ring above the words Rest your eyes.

A break you cannot scroll past.

Speaks three languages

English, Russian and Uzbek. The popup, the break screen and the tips switch together.

Every open tab, one countdown

The break appears on all of your tabs at once and ends on all of them together. Switching tabs does not dodge it.

Strict mode

No skip, no snooze. The break ends when the clock does.

The Options card of the popup with Strict mode switched on.

Not now?

Snooze for five minutes. It comes back as the same break, not a new one.

Every 20 minutes, look at something 20 feet away for 20 seconds. Eye doctors call it the 20-20-20 rule. It is easy to know and hard to remember, so Time to Break remembers it for you.

A day with it.

Work for twenty minutes.

A small badge on the toolbar counts the minutes down. Nothing else on your screen changes.

Rest for twenty seconds.

Every open tab dims. A ring counts down and a tip suggests what to do with your eyes. Skip or snooze if you must.

Every fourth break is a long one.

Five minutes, with tips for the rest of you: stand up, stretch, walk to the window.

The long break screen: a 300 second countdown and a Long Break badge.

Walk away and it waits.

Lock the screen or close the lid and the timer pauses. You come back to a fresh twenty minutes, not to a break.

The popup showing reminders paused.
  • Look up. Find something 20 feet away. Hold for 20 seconds.
  • Blink slowly. Five times. Your eyes need the moisture.
  • Close your eyes. Breathe in. Breathe out. One more.
  • Roll your eyes in a slow circle. Now the other way.
  • Shift your gaze: near, far, near, far. Gentle.
  • Stand up. Stretch both arms toward the ceiling.
  • Walk to the window. Look outside. Notice the distance.
  • Roll your shoulders back. Down. Relax your neck.
  • Touch your toes. Slowly. Bend. Breathe. Rise.
  • Take ten steps away from your desk. Ten steps back.

Take the first one now.

Twenty seconds. Press Esc if you change your mind.
